per member per event at each Rodeo will take effect this season.
CARA Membership - $50.00; Juniors - $30.00; Senior/Junior - $50.00
Your
membership includes cover entry into Finals Awards and
Presentation Evening, which will include a
dance after the presentations. This
is for
CARA members and their invited guests only.
As each Rodeo nears, I will keep you updated
with as much information as is given to me by the Rodeo
Committees, ie. Start times, added events , entertainment
etc:
GENERAL RULES & GUIDELINES
1. Membership in the association shall be limited to persons
interested in furthering the objects of the association
and shall consist of anyone who does not presently hold
a current CPRA or PRCA card. No cardholders can join the association
until their card has lapsed for a period of one
year. The application for admission as a member must receive
the approval of one of the directors of the association.
2. A Junior member is defined as any member 15 years of age
or under as of the first day of January of the current
year.
3. The annual membership fee shall be determined by the
board of directors.
4. Membership into the association does not guarantee entry
in the association rodeos.
5. No Points will be awarded unless the membership is paid
prior to competing.
6. Each local rodeo committee is responsible for the
operation of their individual rodeos and contestants are
required to abide any rules set out by these committees.
7. Each rodeo committee shall keep track of all turnouts
and NSF cheques and provide the names to the Secretary -
Treasurer, who shall compile a list to be known as the no-show
list. A copy of such list will be provided to each rodeo
committee for use at their discretion.
8. In the event of a default in payment to any local rodeo
committee or the association, no points will be awarded to the
member. Clearing of those accounts will re-instate the points.
However two defaults in payments could cause the membership to
be revoked at the discretion of the board of directors.
9. Any contestant who wants to vet out or mediacl out of a
rodeo must let the rodeo committee know by Wednesday night
before the rodeo or must pay entry fees.
10. Any Senior member or Junior member (as a result of
their parent/guardian) may be fined, suspended or both from
the association for any of the following offenses:
a. Non payment of entry fees
b. Attempting to fix, threaten,
bribe, influence or harass the judges or management at
any time between the opening and closing dates of
a rodeo, in or out of the arena, or for talking with a judge
or timer while an event is in progress.
c. Conduct or speech of any kind,
detrimental to the best interest of the association or the
sport of rodeo.
d. Failure to abide by or
disobedience of the articles, by-laws and or rules of this
association
11. In the event of an ofence being reported to the Board
of Directors, a review will be held by the Directors and the
member will be notified and a follow up letter sent to the
member, specifying the particulars reported and indicate
punishment decided upon by the Board of Directors.
12. Failure to understand the rules will not be accepted as
an excuse.
13. Points will be kept for members in good standing from
each Rodeo. All points will be awarded to members . FOR
EXAMPLE: If a non-member wins first in an event and a member
places second, the member placing shall receive placing points
for the second place finish, etc: The points will be awarded
as follows:
1st place - 60pts 2nd place -
50pts 3rd place - 40
pts 4th place - 30 pts
5th place - 20 pts 6th place - 10 pts
14. Western attire is to be worn whilst in the arena -
Wrist length cuffs and collars, hats or helmets must be worn
at all Rodeos and hat must be on head when crossing the start
line.
15. A horse not entering the arena, at the judges
discretion, may be flagged out.
16. All catches must be declared legal catch at each
individual Rodeo.
17. All grievances or concerns must be presented in writing
to the event director only.
18. High Point definitions shall be as follows:
Senior Member: A senior member must qualify
in a minimum of two sanctioned events by year end, the
following events are sanctioned for Senior members;
Saddlebronc* Bareback* Bull Riding*
Tie Down Roping* Ladies Barrels* Team Roping* Wild Cow
Milking**
* signifies a Major Event and a year end saddle award
will be provided. ** signifies an Approved Event and points
from said event will count toward the High Point year end
award. Only team members who have memberships will receive
points and the buckles will go to the top 2 in the Wild Cow
Milking.
Junior Member: Junior member total points
from any sanctioned junior event will be counted for the
Junior High Point, no points from Senior events will be
included. However the member must compete in two different
events. Example: Barrels & Breakaway.
The following events are sanctioned for Junior Members:
12 & Under Steer Riding, 13 - 15
Steer Riding, 12 & Under Barrel Racing, 13 -15 Barrel Racing
12 & Under Breakaway Roping, 13 -15 Breakaway Roping
19. In the event of a tie for points at year end, the tie
will be settled by the toss of a coin, or if both parties and
the rodeo committee are in agreement, a rope off or ride off,
except for the high point, which will be decided by the toss
of a coin. In the event of a disagreement between both parties
as to whether it will be a toss of the coin or a rope/ride
off, a toss of the coin will decide. If one of the individuals
involved in the tie is absent, a toss of the coin will
decide.
20. In all team events, only teams with CARA memberships
will be awarded ponts.
21. If a Junior member is competing in both age groups,
he/she will only receive points in their own age group.
22. These general Rules & Regulations for membership
and event guidelines may be amended or added to upon the
agreement of the Board of Directors.
