Welcome Rodeo Contestants and Rodeo Fans to the Official Central Alberta Rodeo Association Website.
 
Among these pages you will find everything you need, whether it be our Rodeo schedule or information on how to become a member of our Association.
 
CARA currently hosts nine Rodeos a year with a Finals held at the end of the season. Our Rodeo events include Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Saddlebronc, Bareback, Team Roping and Tie Down Roping. For the Juniors we host Barrel Racing, Steer Riding and Breakaway Roping. at some of our rodeos you will also find Cow Riding and other fun added events. For full information check out each individual Rodeo from our drop down list.
 
At the end of each Season we award our contestants with Trophy Saddles for the Senior Championships and the High Point Junior, and our Junior Champions with Embroidered Horse Blankets, Rope Cans and Chaps. At our Finals we present our Champions with Trophy Buckles and Cash Awards. These are all made possible by our valued sponsors, many who have been with our Association for several years.
 
Our Rodeos offer a fun family atmosphere and you will find admission prices make it an affordable family outing; camping is available at most of our Rodeos.

Each Rodeo has its own page and you will find entry dates and start times plus after the rodeo you will find the results.

The standings page is listed under the Statistics page, click by event and click Senior or Junior and you will see the latest standings.

REMINDER - FOR POINTS TO QUALIFY AT RIO GRANDE YOU MUST HAVE YOUR MEMBERSHIP IN PLACE A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS BEFORE THE RODEO STARTS. MEMBERSHIP COST AS OF MAY 1ST - SENIORS $60, JUNIORS $40.

If you have sent in your membership form and not received your card yet you can still enter Rio Grande.

YOU CAN JOIN CARA THROUGHOUT THE SEASON BUT FOR POINTS TO QUALIFY YOU MUST PAY YOUR MEMBERSHIP FEE 48HRS BEFORE THE FIRST RODEO YOU ARE ENTERED IN. CARSTAIRS WOULD BE THE LAST RODEO THAT YOU COULD JOIN BEFORE TO STILL BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR FINALS

To qualify for the CARA Finals you must compete in 5 out of the 11 rodeos. You do not have to place just compete.

Bentley and Winfield Rodeo are getting together and are having a Highway 20 High Point Buckle Challenge for both Saddlebronc and Bareback. The buckles will go to the contestants with the high point score from both Rodeos combined.

Attention Steer Wrestlers - I am looking for about 4 or 5 Steer Wrestlers to put on an Exhibition for a Scottish Film crew during the Sunday performance of the CARA Finals. There is no entry fee or prize money it is purely exhibition. If you are interested please call Janine CARA Secretary at 403-559-9491.

CARA is proud to announce that Rio Grande Sports Association Rodeo will be joining our 2009 circuit.

Rio Grande Rodeo - July 1st & 2nd 2009

Due to the travelling distance of Rio Grande ( 22 miles south of Beaverlodge) it will be run as two seperate Rodeos on the two consecutive dates above, you are eligible to enter twice and receive points for both days.
